Education and Training--

BS, California Institute of Technology
PhD, Astronomy and Astrophysics, UC Santa Cruz

Research Interests --

My research interests at this time fall primarily into the following areas:

1) atmospheric impacts (i.e. impacts of asteroids and comets into planetary
atmospheres),

2) crater formation by impacts, especially of multiple or disrupted bodies,

3) impact-generated tsunami on the Earth, and

4) asteroid dynamics (including internal structure, spin-states, surface
processes, and origin of binaries).

In addition, I am working on extending the asteroid-dynamics computations to
granular-flow and landslide modeling.

I am also part of the NASA-Ames Lunar CRater Observation and Sensing
Satellite (LCROSS) mission science team.

My work consists mostly of numerical modeling: I use codes developed
by others (ZEUS-MP, COULWAVE) for impact and hydrodynamical modeling, and
ones developed by myself (for rigid-body dynamics).
