Research Activities

My research is focused on structural geology of subduction zones and active margins, especially involving fluid-rock interactions. Currently I'm participating in the investigation of the modern subduction zone of SW Japan. Here we are using borehole imaging to understand deformation of the accretionary prism.

Additionally I'm involved in synthesis of the structural evolution of subduction zones from the surface through seismogenic depths. This program involves work with ancient exhumed subduction complexes in Alaska, California, and Japan.
