Welcome to my local page about UCSC's participation in the academic program of the San Diego Supercomputing Center at UC San Diego.
TAPP is an evolution of the Academic Associates Program (AAP) and provides discount rates to UC researchers including AAP users and non-UC reasearchers at other academic, government, and industry organizations.
My name is Don Korycansky and I am the local campus representative for the SDSC program. I review and approve requests for computer resurce allocations at the SDSC.
UCSC has purchased an allocation of 83,000 service units (SUs) for the 2009-2010 academic year. (1 SU equals approximately 1 hour of compute time on a cluster node.) This allocation will be available to UCSC researchers. If there are potential users at UCSC that have computational requirements that exceed that level, the SDSC can work directly with PIs via a recharge to extramural funding (200K base SU minimum purchase, and UC IDC is applied, depending on the source of funds).
New applicants and former AAP users can contact me (the local Campus Administrator) to learn more about the status for our campus.
Further information about TAPP, the Triton Resource, and how to apply can be found at the following URLs:
