On Memorial Day Weekend (2006) I ran the Eel river in Mendecino county with the Hart Family and friends Erin, Charlie, Nena, Ben, Mia, and Kate.
This was my first river run in California, and it was very action packed. There was a class V rapid, Coal Mine Falls, that I ran in the
paddle raft. (Frenchie) Ben and Matt Hart were skilled enough kayakers to run the rapid. We spent two nights on the river and
we enjoyed great food, beverage, and company. Notable events: We saw BEARS!, Shawn nearly broke his foot cliff jumping, the Hart
Brother's multi-decadale physical feats competition continues, if this river was any lower it would not be runnable in a raft, Charlie
was born to Ducky.
