EART 020 - Environmental
Geology - Winter 2001, 2002 - The main goal of this lower division
course is to increase students' understanding of the problems that arise
at the intersection between the human civilization and its natural environment
(syllabus, lecture notes).
EART 142 - Soil
Properties and Mechanics - Fall 2000, Spring 2003 - This course focuses
on properties and mechanics of soils in the context of applied problems
and basic geologic processes (syllabus, lecture
notes).
EART 148 - Glaciology
- Spring 2002 - This is a review of physical and chemical aspects of the
key elements making up the terrestrial cryosphere (snow, glaciers, ice
sheets, sea ice, permafrost). Of particular interest is their relationship
to climate dynamics (syllabus).
EART 290 - Topics
in Glaciology - Spring 2001, 2002 - This seminar-style course is a
survey of recent developments in glaciology as well as glacial geology
and geomorphology. |
